Terms of use

Effective September 9, 2026

Blocklock is a free scorekeeping tool for football squares. These terms are short, and they matter mostly for one reason: your group’s game is yours, not ours.

The service

Blocklock lets a commissioner create a 10×10 squares board for a football game, share a link, and let players claim squares. Live scores decide the winning squares and Blocklock posts the results. Blocklock is free to use. If paid features are added later, these terms will say so.

Your group’s game

Blocklock does not run, host, or take part in any wager. Whether a group plays for stakes, for how much, and who pays whom is decided by the commissioner and the players, not by Blocklock. Blocklock never collects, holds, or transfers money and never takes a cut.

You are responsible for making sure your group’s game is allowed where you live. You must be at least 18 years old to create a board.

Scores and results

Scores come from ESPN’s public data and are provided as-is. Feeds can lag, drop, or be corrected; plays get reviewed; games get delayed, postponed, and cancelled. Blocklock posts results on that basis and may remove a result when the underlying score is overturned. The commissioner’s settlement is final, and Blocklock is not responsible for any payout, missed payout, or dispute among players. What happens with delayed and cancelled games is on the help page.

Fair play

Boards lock when full or at kickoff, and digits are drawn on the server; none of that can be undone. Do not try to claim after a lock, interfere with another player’s squares, automate claims, scrape or overload the service, or otherwise get around the rules that keep boards honest. Commissioners may clear claims on their own board. We may remove boards, claims, or names that break these terms or that are abusive.

Your content

The names, board names, and other text you enter appear on the board for anyone with the link. You must have the right to use them, and you give us permission to display them there. Keep it decent; we may remove content that is not.

No warranty

Blocklock is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind. We work hard at game-day reliability but do not guarantee it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Blocklock and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your group’s game, from score data, or from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service, which today is nothing.

Changes and termination

We may change the service or these terms. Changes take effect when posted here with a new effective date, and continued use means you accept them. We may suspend or remove boards that violate these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
